On Friday 19 January, Antonia Romeo, Permanent Secretary from the Department of International Trade joined The Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) and Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership, to visit Oasis Academy Shirley Park in Croydon.
Coast to Capital is recruiting two new Directors to bring further business sector skills and expertise onto its Board in order to help lead the region through the economic challenges of the years ahead.
Coast to Capital is supporting a range of projects designed to improve the resilience of the region's flood defences. £11 million has been invested in projects in Newhaven, Shoreham-by-Sea and Lancing which will protect over 3,000 properties.
Coast to Capital is expecting the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to launch a Direct Call for £8.89 million of ESF funding for the LEP area in early in 2018. The exact launch date is yet to be confirmed, however initial detail of this Call is being provided to enable potential applicants the time to work towards match funding requirements and partnership collaboration.
