Leader of Brighton and Hove City Council

Nancy Platts was elected to Brighton & Hove City Council in 2018 and took a lead on economic development and social value.  She became Leader of the Council in May 2019.


Immediately prior to becoming Leader, Nancy worked as part of the award winning communications social enterprise, Campaign Collective.  Her background is in communications and campaigns and included stints at the London Fire Brigade, Daycare Trust and Consumer Focus.


She has also held posts in the trade union movement, fought two general elections as a Labour Party candidate in Brighton and was trade union manager in the Leader of the Opposition’s office.
