Summary of Project
The A2300 connects the A23 to Burgess Hill and surrounding areas. Currently as a single carriageway, congestion in peak times can cause disruption and delays in journey times.
The Local Growth Fund contribution aims to develop this road into a dual carriageway and therefore, hugely improving the roads capacity.
This will reduce journey times and congestion, improve links to homes and businesses and encourage new infrastructure that will contribute to the local economic growth.
Plans are also in place to improve the capacity of key junctions and upgrade walking and cycling facilities to ensure the inclusion and safety of all users in the area.
The new carriageway will also have connections to the new Northern Arc Link Road therefore giving more route choice to users.
