Karen Dukes

Karen brings a wealth of experience to the Board having spent her career to date advising businesses across the public, private and third sectors. Her finance skills and commercial expertise have helped further promote a strong business ethos and commercial culture since joining the Board. Karen leads on the delivery of Coast to Capital's loan investments, helps to develop the LEP's commercial strategy and takes overall responsibility for the Growing Places Fund. She is also a member of the Chair's and Investment Committees.

 

Throughout her career Karen has focused at various times on restructuring, due diligence, ethics, inclusion and transformational change. She has experience of most sectors, but has specialised in agri-business, health, education and finance which are some of the key sectors in the Coast to Capital area.

 

Karen has a special interest in using her skills to help the LEP deliver against its Local Industrial Strategy at pace in these challenging times. Karen has taken up the position as interim Vice Chair from 1 August 2020.
