Coast to Capital has launched a new online resource that provides local businesses with a comprehensive directory of support services available at a local, regional and national level.

The Portal at www.c2cbusiness.org.uk includes information about local networking events and sources of business advice and funding to help SMEs and social enterprises flourish and grow.

Malcolm Brabon, Growth Development Manager at Coast to Capital explains that, whilst the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) does not deliver direct business support, it is keen to signpost firms to appropriate support sources and advice.

He said: "We have created a useful directory of local organisations that offer business support through searches by topic or business location to find advice sources and details of business events in their locality."

The Coast to Capital area is home to more than 79,000 businesses supporting more than 721,000 jobs as well as 131,000 self employed individuals. Juliette Green, board member and enterprise champion says: "Creating and maintaining the right conditions for enterprise growth is an important objective of the LEP Board. We are pleased to provide this online resource, which we hope will help businesses broaden their networks and access relevant advice."

The online portal was developed in conjunction with West Sussex County Council and provides information for companies and social enterprises across the LEP area, which includes Brighton and Hove, Lewes, West Sussex, the Gatwick Diamond (including parts of Surrey) and Croydon.
