Construction has started on building a new multi-space commercial and community building at the Aldingbourne Trust's Country Centre site. There will be larger conference facilities, offices, retail space and a café. The new Quarry Building's conference room will include seating for 100 people and have fully accessible facilities.

This project is being supported by the Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership with an investment of £1,960,000 which will help transform the Aldingbourne Country Centre. The building will provide more facilities for people supported by the Trust and the many supporters and visitors who use the Centre, near Fontwell. Construction is due to be completed in spring 2018.

Our support will enable the Aldingbourne Trust to lead business growth, whilst directly creating and safeguarding 73 jobs in the Arun area and providing an additional 1,158 square metres of employment space. It will also create an economically sustainable space for people with disabilities to develop diverse skills in innovative social enterprises.

Jonathan Sharrock, Coast to Capital Chief Executive said:

"We are delighted to be contributing to the new Quarry Building which will not only enhance local employment opportunities but provide a vital place for the community. Our support will help provide more space, training, learning facilities and opportunities to engage with local business and people."

Sue Livett, Managing Director of the Aldingbourne Trust said:

"The Quarry Building is a major milestone in the Aldingbourne Trust's development. We are building for the future, and are delighted the Coast to Capital LEP and our supporters are making this project possible."
