Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership has launched a new £5 million European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) call for applications.

This call is in response to a need for programmes which offer sector-specific business support to small and medium sized enterprises working in the priority sectors of Digital, Life Sciences, and Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, within the Coast to Capital LEP area.

Proposals should align with these priority sectors and may support one or more of the following themes: Digital: 'digital network of excellence in Coast to Capital'; Life Sciences: 'stimulating innovation across niche sectors in the life sciences sector' and 'meeting the skills demand for the life sciences cluster'; and, Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering: 'accessing prototyping and testing facilities', 'specialised mentoring for engineering' and 'accessing technologies of the future'.

Projects must be matched at a rate of 50% and total project value must range between £1 million and £10 million (£500,000 and £5,000,000 ERDF). Projects should also plan to deliver activity for a maximum of 3 years. Applications will be assessed after the closing date of Friday 8 September 2017.

European Structural and Investment Funding Sub-Committee Chair, Helyn Clack said:

"In response to the needs of our key sectors we have created a £5 million funding opportunity. We hope to attract high quality projects which will add value to the ground breaking technological and scientific work already going on in our area which will grow our economy and put us firmly on the map."
