The owners of Teville Gate in Worthing have said new designs for the development of the site will be unveiled in November.

Mosaic Global Investments said the development would contain a mix of homes, spaces for commercial units and leisure opportunities. Work on the site could potentially start in the second half of 2018, with an expected completion date of 2020. The group are launching a public consultation and have encouraged Worthing residents to have their say on the proposals.

Earlier this month the Worthing Borough Council announced a £1.6 million plan to demolish the Teville Gate multi-storey car park.

Funding for the demolition is set to come from the Local Growth Fund, provided by the Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership.

A number of national brands have already expressed 'genuine interest', according to Mosaic, with businesses already signing pre-let releases for units at the site.

Details about the public consultation are set to be released in the first week of October.

Mosaic, who purchased Teville Gate in 2015, said a new website showing their vision for the site would be launched in the coming weeks.

CEO of Mosaic, Aized Sheikh, said:

"We have invested heavily in Worthing because we see its potential as a rising star on the South Coast. I am absolutely confident that we have the vision and proposals for an exciting, desirable and realistic development on this important site."

Councillor Kevin Jenkins, executive member for regeneration on the council, said:

"As a council we remain committed to following through on our plan to demolish the existing multi-story car park which we believe will act as a catalyst for the Teville Gate site and we hope that Mosaic will see the as an opportunity for them to demolish the other buildings on the site."
