Hove Park School and Legal & General have entered into a community partnership to help give pupils a taste of what life is like after education.

Staff from the financial services company will be working closely with the school to give pupils the chance to get involved with a host of activities connected to sport, wellbeing, IT and the community.

To kick-off the partnership, pupils will be joining Legal & General volunteers for Children in Need where they will help on the night in their call centre in Hove City Park.

Other planned events include a Dragon's Den-style project where Legal & General leaders will judge the best idea and we will also be getting the pupils involved in their annual Community Games event.

Legal & General will also be sponsoring Hove Park School's annual Big Camp event where pupils enjoy a day of outdoor activities and then camp out for the night in the school grounds.

As part of our partnership, Legal & General have also opened exercise sessions held in Hove Park for their staff to Hove Park School teachers.

Karan Martin, Hove Location Director, said: "I am absolutely thrilled to be going into a community partnership with Hove Park School.

"As part of our L&G in the Community initiative, I was keen to explore how we could give something back to schools in our area.

"We believe Hove Park are a great school and, being just down the road from our Hove site, it seemed like a perfect opportunity.

"We have lots of exciting activities planned which we hope will be really meaningful for pupils while giving them an insight into life after education through the interaction they gain with our colleagues."

Jim Roberts, Hove Park head teacher, said: "These are exciting times for Hove Park and this partnership will provide experiences and opportunities that will make a real difference to our students and their connection with the world of work. To go into a partnership with such a prestigious local employer is really exciting."

The partnership is being supported by Coast to Capital's Enterprise Advisor Network which is focused on creating sustainable partnerships that support young people to have the key skills, strengths and competencies to equip them into their future career pathways.
Penny Daly, the Enterprise Coordinator for Greater Brighton and Hove, who is coordinating the partnership between Legal and General and Hove Park School shared that "she is excited to see this cohesive, partnership approach deliver meaningful experiences for all of the students at Hove Park. Together we are creating our regions workforce of the future".
