Coast to Capital Head of Services, Malcolm Brabon explains how the Growth Hub is supporting local businesses with the impact of COVID-19 and the Brexit Transition.

“In 2020 our Services team were at the frontline of supporting local businesses.

 

Throughout the course of the pandemic, the team have triaged more than 2,500 enquiries.

In addition, we are here to help businesses address the challenges faced now during the post Brexit Transition period. We know the challenges faced by business so far in 2021 and we remain committed to providing impartial and free advice.

 

We have made it even easier to access support services:

 

  • New and improved Growth Hub portal – up-to-date resources can be filtered by sector.
  • Special ‘Brexit Transition’ newsletters – we issue regular newsletters which cover some of the actions businesses need to take and where to find support. Subscribe here

 

Our support offer has been developed to support our clients in the most effective way:

 

Growth Relationship Managers

 

Growth Relationship Managers work with businesses to understand their needs and identify solutions. The team are highly experienced in providing support to established businesses with access to specialist diagnostic tools to quickly identify priorities for future actions

 

Growth Relationship Managers can provide advice on:

  • business growth strategies
  • potential sources of funding
  • additional sources of business support

 

Fiona Anderson is the Growth Relationship Manager in the East Surrey, Gatwick and Crawley area, with Karen Tyrrell covering the Arun, Chichester, Horsham and Mid Sussex areas. Our Growth Relationship Team Leader, Ryan Davies, provides support in the Brighton, Worthing and Adur areas.

Additional One to One Support

 

Our network of 40 Growth Champions have a wealth of expertise in areas such as Finance, HR, Marketing, Innovation, International Trade, Leadership and Management. Eligible businesses may benefit from a free full day of funded support from a Growth Champion to address any specific issues or concerns.

Additional Support to be introduced in January 2021

 

We have been awarded additional funding by The Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy to expand our Brexit Transition support. We are currently recruiting specialist and general advisers who will provide support via telephone, email, webinars and workshops.

 

We are also working closely with Coast to Capital colleagues to assess the impact of the third COVID-19 lockdown and continue to gather intelligence on the current business environment. This information helps us tailor our business support offer, updates will be provided regularly via our Twitter page."
