Coast to Capital has awarded £500,000 to the Bognor Regis Creative Digital Hub. The funding will contribute to the cost of turning the Hub spaces at Bognor Regis railway station into an exciting collaborative workspace for creative and digital businesses.

The Hub's aim is to create high value jobs in the creative digital sector by providing a shared workspace for up to 150 businesses. It will provide a place where start-ups and freelancers can work side by side, share facilities and network and have access to training and support. The hub will also be strategically linked to the development of the University's Engineering and Digital Technology Park and could potentially provide additional space for creative digital students and graduates.

The work to fit out the Creative Digital Hub is due to begin in summer 2018, and is planned to open in the autumn. The procurement of an operator for the Hub has been successfully concluded, and the appointment will be announced shortly.

Jonathan Sharrock, Chief Executive at Coast to Capital said:

"We are committed to supporting regional projects which benefit the business community and this project is a fantastic example of this. Our region needs significant investment in the digital sector and The Bognor Regis Creative Digital Hub presents a fantastic opportunity to create high value jobs which will benefit local residents and visitors alike."

Louise Goldsmith, Leader of West Sussex County Council, said:

"The announcement of funding from Coast to Capital is fantastic news and just what is needed for the creative and digital communities in Bognor Regis. The Creative Digital Hub will stimulate business growth and job creation in this valuable sector."
