An investment of £3 million from Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership is helping revitalise the Royal Pavilion Estate. This funding is contributing a major refurbishment of the Grade 1 listed Brighton Dome Corn Exchange and Grade 2 listed Studio Theatre as the first stage of an ambitious heritage project at the city's Royal Pavilion Estate.

The strip-out of the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange is progressing well with around three and half thousand tonnes of rubble being removed to make way for the new retractable seating and sub floor storage. The original timber and cast-iron trussed roof structure has been revealed restoring natural light and window detailing. Work is now commencing on the 'Creative Space', an impressive glass and steel building which will provide a dedicated area for artists and production teams. Work is on track to be completed by late 2018.

This transformation will enhance the city's cultural tourism offer and significantly contribute to its economy. It is anticipated that the revitalised Royal Pavilion Estate will help to support 1,241 full time jobs and have an economic impact of up to £68 million.

It will deliver improvements in accessibility, facilities and infrastructure, and will benefit local residents, community groups, schools, artists, tourists, the regional digital community and local businesses amongst others. We are delighted to see the project progressing so well."
