Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership has launched a new £14.35 million European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) call.

This call focuses on Innovation, Business Support and Low Carbon, and whilst the activity must take place in the Coast to Capital area we are looking for bids from organisations across England.

The £4.6 million available for innovation projects is broken down into three calls, two of which will be led by Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership in a Cross-LEP call which will include Coast to Capital LEP, Enterprise M3, Dorset, Solent, and Thames Valley Berkshire:

  • Innovation - £4 million ERDF
  • Knowledge to Market Accelerator - £600k ERDF (£100k Coast to Capital)
  • Quantum Computing Supply Chain Initiative - £2.5m (£500k Coast to Capital)

Of the £5.75 million available for Business Support the 'Coast to Capital Sector Specific Business Support Programme' is worth £5 million ERDF and the 'Internationalisation' Call is worth £750k ERDF. The final £4 million ERDF is a Call for Low Carbon proposals.

There are many examples of ERDF funding being used to great effect across England including the construction of the Thames Valley Science Park in Reading, Berkshire, a 700,000 square foot £11.46 million gateway development part-funded by a £5 million ERDF Priority Axis 1: Research and Innovation grant.

Coast to Capital held an event in Horsham on Friday 15 December to launch the funding, which was well attended and well received.

Projects must be matched at a minimum rate of 50% and be a minimum total project size of £1 million (£500,000 ERDF). Projects should also plan to deliver activity for a maximum of 3 years. The deadline for the two multi-LEP Calls is Friday 26 January and all other Calls have a deadline of Friday 9 February 2018.

European Structural and Investment Funding Sub-Committee Chair, Councillor Helyn Clack said:

"We hope that this £14.35 million funding opportunity will attract exciting and high quality project applications from across the region. We are looking for innovative projects which will add value and contribute to growing our economy."
